Silver Dollar Price Guide

Looking for a silver dollar price guide? We get it. There are a lot of different kinds of silver dollars out there, and each one has a different price. Don’t worry – you’re in the right place!

American Rarities has been dealing with all kinds of silver dollars for decades. We can grade and appraise your silver dollars for free! Let us be your silver dollar price guide of choice!

How Much is a Silver Dollar Worth?

They can be worth quite a bit! Particularly if they’re some of the earlier types like Flowing Hair Silver Dollars, Seated Silver Dollars, and Trade Silver Dollars. There are even proof silver dollars. These are silver dollars with very low mintages (less than 1,000). As a result, they’re in high demand among serious coin collectors (us included!).

At minimum, even a heavily worn silver dollar is worth a bit more than its melt value, but can go much higher. We have bought and sold individual silver dollars for more than $70,000. It all depends on its rarity and condition.

Free Silver Dollar Grading and Appraisal!

Since silver dollars can vary quite a bit depending on their date, mint mark, and other factors, it’s best to get them graded and appraised from a reputable coin dealer and an experienced company. It takes a long time to become skilled in these areas, so you don’t want to go to just any local coin dealer.

Fortunately, American Rarities has been grading and appraising U.S. silver dollars of all kinds for over 30 years now. And as mentioned before, we offer both services totally free of charge or obligation to sell!

How Do I Get Started?

Our process for grading and appraisal is easy and straight-forward – here’s how it works:

  1. Using text, email, or the appraisal form below, send us an inventory list, and/or photos of your silver dollars. Hold the camera steady to ensure the coins are centered in the frame and the photos aren’t blurry.
  2. One of our friendly and knowledgeable silver dollar buyers will respond promptly with their grade. At that point, we can also provide a free written appraisal, and offer to purchase at a competitive price. This appraisal is IRS-approved and, as mentioned before, carries no obligation to sell to us whatsoever.
  3. If you decide to sell to us, we’ll either have our coin buyer come to you, or you can mail your inventory to us. If you mail your silver dollars to us, we fully insure the value of your shipment so there is nothing to worry about.
  4. After we receive your silver dollars we’ll immediately pay you via your choice of company check, ACH/direct deposit, or wire transfer. The money is as good as in the bank already.

We look forward to hearing from you soon!
