What Are the Most Valuable German Rare Coins?

    Taler (16th-19th Century): A large silver coin which originated in the 16th century and was used throughout the Holy Roman Empire.

    Reichsthaler (17th-19th Century): Issued during the era of the Holy Roman Empire and beyond, it was part of the currency system until the early 19th century.

    Fredericks d’or (18th Century): Prussian gold coins named after Frederick the Great, popular among collectors for their historical significance.

    Mark (1873-1914): Introduced after the unification of Germany, these coins were part of the Goldmark currency system.

One of our expert appraisers will respond promptly with their determination as to the coin’s condition and authenticity. After that, you can go forward with an appraisal. Neither the grading nor appraisal carries any obligation to sell to us whatsoever.

If you decide to sell to us, we’ll either pick up the coins ourselves (for highly valuable collections) or you can mail them to us. To make the process as stress-free as possible, we fully insure the value of your shipment.

After we receive your coins we’ll immediately pay you via your choice of company check, ACH, or wire transfer.
